Katie Jane is the founder and primary college consultant at Pangaea Life, an independent college counseling firm helping students find right-fit global university experiences for over 15 years. Her students have gone on to top U.S. universities with worldwide study opportunities and millions of dollars in scholarships. Katie is a UCLA-certified college counselor and is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association. Katie has served as a College Advisor at a top local high school in addition to her 1:1 consulting.

Students who attend Next Move will walk away with a a clear, personalized next-step plan, confidence in their decisions, less stress and comparison, and a better understanding of college fit. Most programs jump straight to applications and checklists. Next Move starts earlier, helping students understand themselves before making decisions that shape the next chapter of their lives.

Information alone doesn’t reduce stress. Clarity does. Next Move helps students connect their strengths, interests, and values to real options they can feel good about. No lectures. No sales pitches. Just honest conversations, guided planning, and a supportive environment where students can take their next step with confidence.

There’s no ranking schools, no “where everyone else is going,” and no rush to decide. Next Move creates space for thoughtful reflection so students can move forward without fear or overwhelm.

This experience is designed to align families, not create more tension. Parents gain tools to support their students in ways that build confidence instead of pressure.

Next Move was created to bring that work into an in-person experience where students feel supported, grounded, and confident moving forward. It is built on years of hands-on work through Pangaea Life College Consulting, supporting students and families through real decisions and real outcomes.
Register before March 10th and receive $200 off of standard admission.

“We are so grateful for Katie’s caring guidance in helping my daughter as she begins high school and starts shaping her career path and college-bound journey. She took the time to truly understand my daughter’s strengths, interests, and goals, and offered thoughtful, personalized advice that made us feel supported and inspired. Her warmth, expertise, and encouragement have been invaluable to our family.”
"Katie thank you so much for everything you've done for me and my future 🩷 if it weren't for you i wouldn't have found out about all the opportunities you've shown me and the best choices i could make. i'm eternally grateful for your service Katie💕💕"
"Katie played such a huge part in our son’s journey to finding his college! And it’s not just about getting in and test scores…it’s about finding the right fit which is the base for success in college…She made the whole process so smooth and stress free!! She’s the BEST there is…if you want a positive stress free & enjoyable journey through the process…don’t walk RUN to Katie!!😊"
“I started a business and have competed in multiple pitch competitions [since working with Katie]. She taught me that there is more to a school than just the name - she helped me find schools that were the right match for my personality...Having Katie by my side through the stressful final years of high school allowed me to better focus my energy and reach new heights I never expected to reach.”
"If you're looking for a college advisor who begins with a focus on your child and identifies schools where they will thrive, rather than an advisor who begins with the same 10 schools and molds your child to their template, then you've come to the right place! Katie will work with your son/ daughter to help them learn more about themselves: their interests, their learning styles and what challenges and excites them. From there she'll help you identify what are the best schools where they will thrive. She will challenge your students preconceived notions and they will learn things about themselves that will surprise and motivate them..."
"Katie has been helping me along the way of the complex, and challenging college selection and application process. What I find amazing about her and her team is that they’ll become your friends and you’ll become theirs, and I believe that is what sets Pangaea Life apart. When I’m either concerned or worried about something I really appreciate Katie and her team because they are ALWAYS available to help you."

Katie was born and raised in the U.S.’s most international city, Miami, the first of her family to be born in this country. Her lovable parents had no idea how to help her choose and get through college. But Katie’s determination and skill not only got her into college but she had so many scholarships, that she was basically paid to attend school!
Katie was motivated and achieved, including graduating from high school in the top six percent of her class, already with college credits, a member of National Honor Society, Student Government President, an athlete, and other significant extracurriculars.
Due to her academic excellence and her resourcefulness in seeking scholarships, Katie was awarded:
and best of all, a full-ride scholarship to Florida International University (FIU).
During her college years, Katie searched out and used study aborad opportunities to travel the world:
Now she is helping students find the global university experience right for them, including U.S. universities with worldwide study opportunities.
Today, Katie has guided hundreds of students as the Founder and College Consultant of Pangaea Life with over 15 years of experience.

The application process helps ensure that Next Move is the right fit for everyone involved. This experience works best when students are genuinely open to the process and willing to engage; not because they’re being pushed, but because they want clarity for themselves.
The application allows Katie to get a sense of each student’s mindset, needs, and goals so the experience can be meaningful and supportive, rather than overwhelming or misaligned. It also helps create a group environment where students feel comfortable, respected, and surrounded by peers who are there for similar reasons.
Most importantly, this step ensures that students are choosing to be part of Next Move. When students feel ownership over the process, they gain more confidence, clarity, and value from the experience, making the most of everyone's time.
Yes! Next Move was created specifically for students who feel unsure, overwhelmed, anxious, or confused about what comes next. The goal isn’t to force a decision, but to help students gain clarity and confidence so they can move forward feeling grounded instead of stressed. If your student is unsure, this is exactly the type of support they need.
Yes, parents are absolutely welcome to attend. There are intentional moments throughout the experience designed to support family alignment, so students don’t feel like they’re navigating this alone. The goal is to help parents feel informed and supportive without taking over the process.
Next Move is designed specifically for high school juniors, as this is when many students begin actively thinking about college and next steps.
Not at all. While the summit may be held on a college campus, the purpose is simply to help students become comfortable with the idea of college life — not to promote or pitch a specific institution. This is not a college fair. There will be no recruiting representatives present. Students may have access to guidance counselors or student ambassadors from multiple universities to answer general questions, but the focus remains on clarity and fit, not selling a school.
That’s completely okay and very common. Next Move is intentionally designed to be a warm, welcoming environment where no one is singled out or put on the spot. Students can engage at their own pace, and no one is ever left feeling uncomfortable or isolated. Katie works with all personality types in her corporate coaching practice and is especially skilled at creating spaces where introverted, anxious, or quieter students feel safe, supported, and seen.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
